Zilker Park Graffiti
What do you call the area adjacent to Barton Springs where the water flows out of the main pool? I’ve called it the “dog run” for years because of the consistent canine presence in the area. In the summer of 2008 there were some impressive pieces on a poolside ledge. I did not have my camera with me at the time, and when I returned the pieces had been buffed. Fortunately, I discovered that one of my facebook friends had unintentionally captured the graffiti in a photograph:
In the background to the left you can clearly see the work of RAKUN, ERKS, and a third writer. The rest of the Zilker graffiti was nothing to write home about:
A canadian graffiti writer was arrested last month after someone alerted police to pictures on his facebook.
It looks like he’s got some talent.
Some commonly refered to as “Barking Springs” due to the presence of dogs. Some simply call it the spillway.
Brilliant.
